ABOUT ME
WHO AM I?
Now that’s a great question isn’t it? Today I understand that it’s not my name, not my occupation, not my ethnicity, not my masculinity.. it’s far more bigger than that. But I’ll stop being philosophical.
My name is Cedric McKnight and I’m the creator of the Amsterdam based brand and movement ‘Adam Adapter’.
On this page I’d like to share a bit on what makes me ‘tick’ and what inspired me to start this initiative. To me the message is more relevant than the messenger so without further ado, let’s get into it!
BIRTH OF A SEEKER
At the age of ten my mom and I moved to Amsterdam which felt like I was entering another Universe compared to the village I came from. I loved it from the start and it almost felt like I was Harry Potter moving to Hogwarths School of Wizardry to learn magic. It was the start of a next life. However things started to shift pretty fast when I became beware that there was a darker side to the world…
I was twelve when the weight of the world first pressed against my heart: I saw people hurting, suffering, lost in struggle, and something inside me whispered: “This can’t be how life was meant to be.” The world felt misaligned, slightly tilted out of place.
This challenged the loving image of God I’d grown up with, thanks to my parents and especially my mother. I believed in an almighty wise and caring creator, and still do, but as I stepped into adulthood and searched for deeper meaning, religion did not provide the clarity I craved.
So where to find answers?

THE BIG 'WHY?'
I explored mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, and astronomy—fields grounded in observation rather than speculation. They revealed stunning intelligence behind everything, from the tiniest particles to entire galaxies..
Yet even then, a thirst remained. Something essential still felt unanswered. People encouraged me to pray, meditate, or reason my way through the uncertainty. All had good intentions, yet the questions echoed even louder:
Why do we die?
Why so much pain?
Why violence, hatred, racism, exploitation, war? But above all: Why am I here?
A TURNING POINT
I searched and found.
And just in time because I was walking a path of self-destruction and I don’t think I’d be here to tell this story if I hadn’t found Knowledge of Self. I guess that I was ready to absorb and understand the great lessons of the many wise that walked the Earth with a single heartfelt mission: to end the suffering of all living beings.
Subsequently, I distilled three pillars from their teachings combined with my own insights:
1. Know what you are
2. Know what to do
3. Live it
A TURNING POINT
ENTER ADAM
Applying these principles changed my life in ways I never imagined. From that transformation, the character Adam Adapter was born—an inspired creation meant to tell the story of being lost in darkness and rediscovering one’s true self. Not just as a narrative, but as a mirror through which others can recognize the greatness within them.
Today I’m looking forward to see more and more people ignite their flames and become a light unto themselves—and to each other. May all that you find here at Adam’s Web World aid you in that quest..
